  great faculty totally controlled by the goverment

  I studied there 1971 - 73 with highly qualified teachers and students all aware that if they deviated from the communist goverment guide lines they were fire or expeled , it was and still is a very corrosive educational center where misinformation and double standards were every day classrooms teachings

  I would NOT recommend Enrique Jose Varona Higher Institute of Pedagogy to a friend.

  it is totally shamefull that this institution it's still completely subordinated to the communist goverment and its idiology, despite of having great profesors and academics, they are not allow to encourage free thinking and free speach of students and if they do, punishment comes quik and they find themself out of a job and without the possibility of getting back in the educational system. Students are thrown out of their carriers if they are labaled " idiologically deviated ", not to mention if they are classified as having " homosexual tendencies", so this so called higher institute of pedagogy is nothing more than a farce.
