    Glad I Chose HTMi Switzerland

Graduated from HTMi and had a really good experience overall. One thing I appreciated the most was that the tuition fee was relatively affordable compared with other Swiss hospitality schools. The accommodation and food were not luxurious but decent, and I could see improvements in food quality during my final year. The dual degree was another big advantage for me. Having both an HTMi degree and a UK degree added extra value when entering the job market. I also want to give credit to the Career Centre team. They supported me during my internship and even after graduation, which I think not many schools do. Studying abroad always comes with ups and downs, but personally, I'm happy with my decision and grateful for all the experiences and friendships I gained at HTMi.

I would recommend Hotel and Tourism Management Institute to a friend!

The Worst Experience at HTMi Switzerland – Unprofessional, Disorganized, and Misleading Hospitality School

My year studying at HTMi Switzerland in Sörenberg was the worst educational experience I have ever had. The hospitality management program was extremely unprofessional and poorly organized. As a student pursuing a bachelor's degree in hotel and tourism management, I expected a quality education, but instead encountered mismanagement and lack of clear scheduling. From the very beginning, there was no official timetable for two weeks. The curriculum was unclear, and most of our time was spent doing menial kitchen tasks such as preparing simple cafeteria meals like rice and steamed chicken. Unlike other hospitality schools with engaging student events, leadership opportunities, and practical hotel internships, HTMi focused heavily on kitchen chores with little academic support. The so-called “MIT” student supervisors, mostly from India, were rude and sometimes unhygienic, creating a toxic environment. The kitchen workload was overwhelming, often six days a week, with no proper work-life balance or weekend breaks. Meanwhile, other students enjoyed leisure activities and creative events, which we were completely excluded from. My mental health suffered greatly during this time; I was prescribed antidepressants and continued treatment for a year after graduation. The internship promised as part of the program was a complete letdown. I was sent to a hotel expecting hands-on experience in two Michelin-starred restaurants but ended up doing low-level tasks like serving staff meals and mixing leftovers. This experience was far from professional hospitality training. Food quality at HTMi was poor, and many students, including myself, experienced food poisoning. The cooking was done mostly by students without adequate supervision. There was only one professional chef instructor responsible for the pastry section, leaving the main kitchen poorly managed. If you are searching for honest reviews about HTMi Switzerland, be aware of the potential risks.

I would NOT recommend Hotel and Tourism Management Institute to a friend.
