Not your worst choice I transferred to Texas Tech my sophomore year and I didn't really know what to expect. I know that the school has very low standards for admissions so basically any idiot can get in. It was definitely a big party school, and I was really worried about how that would affect my academics. Also, there are a lot of foreign professors, which can be difficult to understand at times. I had to start taping the lectures so I could go back and listen again. Basically, as with most things, it is what you make it. I felt like I still got a decent education but that is because I went the extra mile and did it on my own. I am sure more than half of my graduating class didn't learn a thing. The opportunity is there but most students don't really care. If you can't get into a better school, then it is not the worst place in the world and if you work hard you might even learn something. Oh, and Lubbock is a terrible city. Pros: affordable tuition, knowledgeable faculty, beautiful campus, attractive people Cons: poor academic reputation I would NOT recommend to a friend. |
Don't Work Here! They don't care about the students at all. All they care about is their reputation. I would recommend that no students attend this school and would DEFINITELY not recommend working at Texas Tech. This has been the worst employment experience of my life. I would NOT recommend to a friend. |
I didn't like this school Although the campus is nice, it is located in a bad and dangerous neighborhood. I rarely went of campus because it was so bad. The combination of an unsafe neighborhood and junk options in the cafeteria made it difficult to get a good meal. The cafeterias are like a mall food court and I felt like everything was overpriced. The students drink a lot, probably to forget what a bad place they are in. If you are not into getting drunk, good luck. The business school isn't challenging at all and I don't think I got a quality education for what I was paying. Most of my classmates were bad students who didn't take school seriously. Cons: poor academic reputation, outdated technology, unsafe, Bad food I would NOT recommend to a friend. |
