First International Comparative Education Conference, Lorestan University, Khorramabad, Iran We attended this well organised conference, 500 km from the capital of Teheran. We we overwhelmed by the people's friendliness and level of cultural behaviour. The city is beautiful and clean and the university is set in the mountains, surrounded by nature and fresh air. The conference was attended by international academics from Europe, Africa and Asia and the Middle-East. Iranians were well represented. The conference programme was well planned and implemented. It is regrettable that propaganda about Iran had to influence negative attitudes towards Iran. We found it a safe and friendly place with lots of potential for tourism. This country has much to teach the world and especially the Islamic world that is struggling to find its voice in a technologically advanced global village. Iran (we visited 3 cities) is progressive, ultra-modern and cultured, with a strong awareness of their historical legacy and national identity. We experienced no xenophobia, racism, drunkenness or rudeness in the public domain. The place is rich in history and reflects a positive outreach for the future. Loristan University should seek international collaboration and partnerships so as to share what they have to offer and vise versa. Thank you Loristan for hosting a wonderful event.
